Recently vandalism in the form of tagging both signs and personal property has been noticed, particularly along Nimmo Pkwy, the Nimmo neighborhood trail, and on personal property in the Back Bay section such as that seen in the photo below, submitted by one of our neighbors.

Please be on the lookout — if you see vandals, or notice anyone with “tagging” materials such as spray paint, please notify police. Our watchful eyes and action can put a stop to this.

That’s to a Lago Mar resident, we can now find out more about our weather right here in our own neighborhood. A community is as good as those that contribute to it - the more the merrier!

Lago Mar has long been known for it’s beauty and quality of life that have all been developed by neighbors just like you.

Many of the events residents have enjoyed year after year began with a single resident and an idea, followed up by their energy and dedication, and eventually became so popular that the civic league has worked to help keep traditions going such as Santa visits and July 4th parades.

In addition, a great deal goes on behind the scenes and is again supported and made possible by volunteers — capital improvements, communications with the city and surrounding businesses and communities, trail improvements, landscape maintenance….the list goes on and of course, grows with the ideas and energy of our current resident volunteers.

Those who take part in these activities, young & old, know first-hand the value they personally get by contributing to their community and this neighborhood. There always seems to be more ideas and needs than volunteers but with over 900 homes, the right people with the right talents and ideas are undoubtedly out there. Every household has something to offer and we want to include you.

A Gift for the Neighborhood

Your civic league has been in the process of once again researching, identifying a site, and gaining approval for a new entrance sign for our Back Bay section. The design will mimic the style of our original signs along Sandbridge Road. It’s been a long process but we think we are getting close!

Welcome Home ~ Let it SLOW

Residents have been concerned about speed on our local streets. The City of VB traffic division, along with the VB Police, have begun studies as well as ticketing within Lago Mar. One two hour period showed an average speed of 37 mph! That’s nearly 50% over the safe maximum speed limit!

Please be reminded to slow down - our MAXIMUM posted speed limit is 25 mph. Coming around a bend? See pedestrians sharing the road? Cars parked that are blocking visibility? Please slow below 25 mph.

Lago Mar is our home - slow down and enjoy it. We want all of our residents and visitors to be safe here.

Have you noticed street lights out? Potholes? Concerns with graffiti, property maintenance, or stray animals? Have questions about city codes? The City of VB has a great website, and many of your questions & concerns can be reported online. Be sure to know a specific location (and a pole number for any lights) to get the best response.
