Residents Opposing Rezoning along Nimmo Parkway
Posted on May 8, 2012, under Member Information.
Residents of Cordova Court are looking for support to organize opposition to the R7.5 Rezoning of the Nimmo Parkway Horse Farm.
This property is being proposed for 7,500 SF lots with tract homes priced in the $300,000s.
They would like to see development more compatible with Lago Mar’s R15 Zoning (Custom Homes on 15,000 SF lots) in order to protect our property values. They are also concerned about potential environmental impacts.
If you would like to assist with this effort, please contact Bob Armour at bobpetraarmour@cox.net
4th of July Fun!
Posted on May 7, 2012, under Announcements, Member Information.
Are you the parent of a high school or college student (16 or older) who is interested in doing a little volunteer work to beef up a resume, or just have fun? If so, we have some awesome volunteer opportunities at the Annual Lago Mar 4th of July Parade! (Adults are welcome to volunteer too!!)
Volunteers will help with the parade or judge the decorated bikes, tractors, golf carts or floats.
We also need volunteers with convertible cars willing to drive our scholarship winners in the parade. Classic cars, convertible or otherwise, are great additions to the parade as well.
If you’re interested, please call
Mike Mundy @ 426-0129.
Kroll Development - Nimmo Parkway
Posted on April 24, 2012, under Member Information.
Here is the message from Kroll’s attorney’s office to the Virginia Beach Planning Department staff:
We are requesting an indefinite deferral of the above application in order for our engineers to meet with councilwoman, Henley and City Staff to discuss her concerns with potential drainage impacts of this new neighborhood upon the adjacent homeowners.
I advised most of the Council members late last week of our request and Mrs. Henley was kind enough to agree to let the neighboring homeowners know the matter would be deferred.
Please refer to the earlier post below regarding the postponement of the April 24th hearing.

For anyone who planned to attend next week’s City Council meeting for this hearing — you will want to wait and stay tuned.

Marlyn Development Proposal Withdrawn
Posted on April 13, 2012, under Member Information.
The developer of the proposed Sandbridge Villas, Marlyn Development, has withdrawn the application for a conditional use permit at the recent Planning Commission meetings. As a result, the project will not be developed on this site.
Many of you receiving this info are doing so via your subscription to this website. Thank you! Please take every opportunity to inquire with your neighbors and Lago Mar friends, and encourage them to also subscribe to the sight so they too will receive future information directly from the Civic League. It is truly the fastest and most broad-reaching avenue we have to keep our residents informed between our published Lago Mar Ledger.
Update on Developments Proposed Near Lago Mar
Posted on April 5, 2012, under Member Information.
Greetings –
For those of you who did not attend the Civic League meeting at Red Mill Monday evening, April 2nd, we can tell you it was spirited. Topics driving the most discussion were the Mirasol Development planned for Nimmo Parkway and the Sandbridge Villas project proposed for Sandbridge Road just east of Las Brisas Drive. Barbara Henley, your City Council representative, gave us good advice on how to effectively oppose these projects…
