President’s Message

Welcome to the LagoMar web site!  Hopefully, you will find the site useful as a means to educate yourself on civic events and help you interact with your LagoMar neighbors and friends. 

The Civic League’s goal is simple…make LagoMar the most desirable community in Virginia Beach.   Desirable in all aspects; beautiful to look at, fun to be a part of and a solid investment where property values remain high.

The Civic League Executive Board (CLEB) is a volunteer five member panel that serves as the “oversight” committee to ensure all efforts are made to improve the community and maintain the beauty of our neighborhood.  The CLEB manages a significant budget raised from a $75 membership donation provided by each household in the community.  There are over 900 homes in LagoMar yet regrettably Civic League membership has never exceeded 50%.  The bylaws or CLEB Constitution is posted on the web site, I encourage you to read them and comment as you see fit. 

In addition to maintaining the grounds the Civic League fosters a sense of community.  The Civic League sponsors two annual social events, one in conjunction with the 4th of July and the second in October.  Both festivities are entertaining and designed to give something back to Civic League members and their families as well as allow you an opportunity to meet your neighbors.  Additionally, your Civic League offers a scholarship program to graduating high school seniors off to college.  The entire proceeds of our May golf tournament go toward scholarships for five Civic League members’ children. 

The CLEB is dedicated to serving the LagoMar community.  The people that serve on the board are volunteers that support the neighborhood purely out of love of our community.  We encourage you to become a part of your neighborhood.  If everyone in LagoMar works toward our one simple goal, LagoMar will remain the envy of every other development in Hampton Roads.
